Research for Patient and Public Benefit (RfPPB) and Research Funding Scheme: Social Care Grant now live
Closing date: 29 October 2019
Health and Care Research Wales is pleased to announce that new calls for applications to the Research for Patient and Public Benefit (RfPPB) scheme and Research Funding Scheme: Social Care Grant are now live.
The calls will be open until 13:00 on 29 October 2019.
Please note that each scheme will have a two-stage application process. Stage 1 applications will only need to provide a summary of their project and a case for prioritisation, and will be assessed on the research need and importance of the research question. Applicants shortlisted will then be invited to submit a full application in Stage 2, where the quality of the science and value for money will be assessed.
Remit and priority areas
This scheme is open to individuals based in NHS organisations in Wales. The Lead Applicant should be research active at the time of applying and must have an established role within the NHS. The scheme supports capacity and capability building in NHS Wales (including Public Health Wales) by funding research related to the day-to-day practice of the health service, including integrated health and social care practice, and associated patient and public benefit. Health and Care Research Wales would particularly welcome applications addressing the challenges set out in ‘A Healthier Wales’, the Welsh Government’s plan for health and social care.
All social care projects meeting the general remit of the scheme will be eligible for consideration. In addition, Health and Care Research Wales particularly welcomes applications addressing the following priority areas: Children who are looked after, and reducing the need for children to be in care; People with dementia; Care and support at home.
