Seminar: Can volunteering help create better health and social care?

Researchers, community members and practitioners are invited to this event, to consider the published evidence about volunteering in health and care in the light of experience, knowledge and the policy context in Wales.

The focus of this seminar will be:

  • Helpforce will present the published findings from a commissioned literature review on volunteering in health and care - 'Can volunteering help create better health and care?' (May 2017) and subsequent report, 'The role of volunteers in the NHS' (Dec 2018) commissioned by Helpforce and RVs.
  • Overview of the key learning from pilot interventions carried out with NHS Trusts in England.
  • Aguest panel will offer their own responses to the reserch evidence from their different perspectives.
  • Group discussion to identify key challenges, opportunities and priorities for research or strategic developments about volunteering and health and social care.

The event will be held in Cardiff on the afternoon of Monday 30th September and is free of charge but ticketed.
