Laura graduated from Cardiff University in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) in Social Science. Since graduating, Laura has worked within the NHS for over 9 years in an administrative role where she has gained a wide range of experience through positions that have included working as a Clerical Officer in a Physiotherapy and Podiatry Outpatient Department and for Powys teaching Health Board as a member of the All Wales Retrospective Continuing NHS Health Care Review Project team.
Laura began working in Public Health Wales in April 2014 as an Administration and Resources Officer, providing secretarial support to the Research and Evaluation team and assisting the Research and Development (R&D) Office with the administration of NHS Research Permission applications. She gained promotion to Research and Development Governance Officer in October 2014, where she is now responsible for coordinating the local NHS R&D review process for research projects involving Public Health Wales, which includes facilitating study set up and confirming capacity and capability to deliver the study. Laura provides advice and support to researchers both internal and external to Public Health Wales on research governance matters and provides support to both the Research and Evaluation team and wider organisation in the implementation of the Public Health Wales Research Strategy.
